We are hiring experienced claw truck operators in Houston for steady residential solid waste routes. $400 a day, six days a week, year-round. We provide housing, so it does not matter what state you are in right now. You do need to have run a claw or grapple truck before, because there is no training on this one.
You would be running a claw truck on a residential solid waste route: working the boom, picking bulk trash and brush piles off the kerb, loading them into the bed and hauling to the dump site. Steady route work, not storm chasing. The same streets come around on a schedule, so you know what your week looks like before it starts.
Work the grapple, pick the piles clean off the kerb and keep the route moving. You already know the rhythm of this if you have done it before.
Pack the bed properly, make your runs and get back on route. How well you load decides how many trips you make.
You are swinging a boom on a live residential street. Watching cars, kids and power lines is part of the job every single day.
Daily walk-around, fluids, greasing the boom and reporting problems before they become breakdowns. A truck down is a route not run.
Rakers and groundsmen clean up behind you. Good operators keep them safe and keep them busy.
This is the one thing we cannot bend on: you must have run a claw or grapple truck before. There is no training on this one, so we need operators who can get in and go.
Required, not preferred. Municipal solid waste, storm debris, scrap or tree work all count. If you have never run the boom, this is not the one.
Not required, but five of the ten seats need a Texas CDL, so having one moves you to the front of the line. A CDL from another state still helps.
The work is in Houston. We provide housing, so you can come from anywhere in the country, but you do need to be here for the route.
The route runs six days. This is long hours and real money, and it only works if the truck has an operator in it every morning.
Gulf Coast summers are no joke. You will be in and out of the cab all day in real humidity.
You are working on live residential streets in front of people's houses. We need operators who run the boom carefully and leave the street clean.
Six days a week, every week. Do that math and this is one of the better seats in the country for a claw operator.
We cover the housing, so coming in from out of state does not cost you a deposit, a lease or a motel bill.
This is not a two-week storm cleanup that ends when the debris is gone. It is a regular route that runs every week, all year.
Solid waste does not have an off season. The route runs in January the same as it runs in July.
You are not a lone owner-operator out there. Other operators, ground crews and a company behind you.
Family-owned company and the owner answers his own phone. Ask what you want on the first call and you get a real answer.
Name, number and a few quick questions. No resume needed.
We go through your claw truck experience, your CDL, the housing and your start date.
We sort out your housing and get you on the route in Houston.
