We're a growing family-owned tree service in Kansas City looking for a hardworking, dependable groundsman. If you like working outdoors, take pride in a job done right and want to build a career in tree care, we'd like to hear from you. Experience helps but it isn't required, and we'll train you.
The groundsman is the backbone of a tree crew. While the climber is up in the tree, you're the one keeping everything moving on the ground: running the chipper, hauling brush and logs, keeping the site safe and setting the crew up so the job goes smoothly. It's real physical work outdoors in every kind of weather, and it's how most people in this trade get started.
Work alongside the climbers and bucket operators on residential removals and trims across the metro.
You'll be on the saw and the chipper daily. If you haven't run this gear before, we'll teach you the right way to do it.
The heavy end of the job. Brush to the chipper, logs to the truck, and the yard left better than we found it.
Ropes coiled, gear out of the walkway, debris cleared as you go. A tidy site is a safe site and it's what customers notice.
Cones out, drop zone marked, everybody clear before the first cut. You help set the job up before the work starts.
Chains sharp, gear cleaned and the trucks ready for tomorrow. You look after the equipment that looks after you.
We care more about whether you show up and work than what's on your resume. Experience in tree service, landscaping, construction or any outdoor labor helps, but it is not required.
A valid license is preferred and a CDL is a plus, but neither is required. Reliable transportation to the shop matters either way.
Logs, brush and gear all day. This is a physical job and we'd rather be straight with you about that up front.
Kansas City summers and Kansas City winters. Storm weeks are our busiest, and that's when the crews are needed most.
A crew can't run a man short. Showing up on time, every day, already puts you ahead of most people who apply.
Tree work is a real trade with a lot to it. Come in wanting to learn the craft and there's a career here, not just a job.
You're working a few feet from the same guys all day. Pulling your weight and being easy to work with counts for a lot here.
What you bring shows up in the offer. If you've done this work before, say so and it counts. We talk real numbers on the first call.
Storm season, summer trimming, winter removals. The phones ring here all year, so the hours don't dry up in January.
