We are hiring ground crew in the Houston area to work behind our claw trucks on residential solid waste routes. Raking, clearing and general labor keeping the routes clean. $175 a day. Honest outdoor work on a steady route, not a two-week cleanup.
The claw trucks pick up the bulk trash and brush piles off the kerb, and the ground crew works behind them: raking up what is left, clearing the verge and keeping the street looking right when the truck pulls away. It is straightforward physical work on a residential route, and people notice whether a crew leaves a street clean or not.
Once the grapple has taken the pile, you clean up the leaves, small branches and scatter that got left on the grass and the kerb.
Loose debris, bagged material and the odd awkward piece that needs a set of hands instead of a boom.
Stay clear of the swing, keep residents back and help the operator see what he cannot see from the cab.
Cones out, gear moved, next pile scouted. The faster the crew flows, the more of the route gets done.
Whatever the crew needs that day. Some days it is all rake, some days it is loading and hauling.
There is no certificate for this. We are looking for people who turn up and work, and we would rather hear from you directly than read a resume.
A crew cannot run a man short. Showing up on time, every day, already puts you ahead of most people who apply.
Raking, lifting and hauling all day. We would rather be straight with you about that than have you quit in week one.
Gulf Coast summers are the hard part of this job. If you have worked outside through a Houston August, you know what you are signing up for.
You are on foot next to a working boom. Paying attention is not optional, and we will show you exactly where to stand.
Reliable transportation to meet the crew each morning. You are not driving the trucks, so no CDL needed.
You are working a few feet from the same guys all day. Pulling your weight and being easy to work with counts for a lot here.
Straightforward day rate for ground crew work. You know what you are making before you start.
This is not a two-week cleanup that ends when the debris is gone. It is a regular route that runs every week, all year.
Residential routes around the Houston area. No travel, no living out of a motel, home every night.
An established operation with equipment, operators and a company behind you, not a two-man outfit.
Where to stand, how to work around the boom and what a finished street looks like. Nobody drops you in cold.
Family-owned company and the owner answers his own phone. Ask what you want on the first call and you get a real answer.
Name, number and a few quick questions. No resume needed.
We talk through the work, the day rate and where you would meet the crew.
Come see the operation, meet the guys you would be working with and get on the schedule.
