This is not a training job. We're looking for someone who already knows how to knock a door and have a real conversation with a homeowner. You work the neighborhoods our crews are already in, find the tree work people have been putting off and set up the estimate. $40K a year, or 10% commission on the jobs you bring in if you'd rather bet on yourself.
You're out in KC metro neighborhoods talking to homeowners about their trees. Almost everybody has a limb over the driveway or a dead tree in the back they've been meaning to deal with for two years. Your job is to find those people and get them on the calendar for an estimate. You don't price the work and you never touch a saw. You find the opportunity and hand it off clean.
When a crew is on a block with the bucket truck out, the neighbors are the warmest doors in the metro. You're not cold-knocking a random town with nothing behind you.
Spot the dead limb over the driveway before you knock. Knowing what to point at is the difference between a real conversation and a door closing.
Get the name, the number and a time that sticks. A booked estimate the homeowner forgets about helps nobody, including your commission.
Which houses, who was interested, who said come back after the holidays. Nobody is going to chase your pipeline for you, and that is where a lot of the money is.
You're the first person a homeowner meets. How you handle that door decides whether they trust the estimate that follows.
We'd rather pay more for someone who already has this skill than train someone who doesn't. Tree knowledge you can pick up. Knowing how to talk to people at their front door is the part we can't teach you.
Home services, solar, pest, security, roofing, retail closing, anything where you had to open a conversation and ask for the business.
Homeowners can tell in about four seconds whether they like you. That instinct is most of this job and either you have it or you don't.
Nobody is riding along behind you counting doors. You set your day, you work it, and the numbers show whether you did.
You already know most doors are a no. If that still stings after a few years in sales, this pace will wear you out.
You'll be moving between neighborhoods on both sides of the state line, so a reliable way to get there matters.
If sitting at a desk under fluorescent lights all day sounds miserable to you, this is the opposite of that.
Take the salary if you want the floor, or take 10% of the jobs you bring in if you'd rather bet on yourself. We'll walk through both on the first call and you pick.
Tree jobs are not small tickets. Ten percent of a good week is real money, and nobody here is going to cut your territory because you had a strong month.
You work the streets our crews are already on. The trucks, the chipper and the neighbor's finished job are doing half the selling before you knock.
Storm season, summer trimming, winter removals. The phone rings here all year, so your income doesn't dry up in January.
You're trusted to run your own day. Bring in the work and how you got there is your business.
Small company, owner answers his own phone. You'll know everybody's name in the first week and your work gets noticed.
Name, number and a few quick questions. No resume needed.
We talk through your sales background and go over both pay structures so you can pick the one you want.
Spend a day on real streets seeing how the territory works, then get on the schedule.
Quick form. We call or email you back.
Thanks for applying. Someone from our office will call or email you shortly. Want to reach us first? Call 913-894-4767.
If you've sold door to door before, you'd rather be outside than at a desk and you want to be paid for what you actually bring in, fill out the quick application. If you'd rather just talk it through first, call and ask about the lead generator position.
